Consultant at the Law Office

Prof dr hab. Zdzisław Brodecki becomes a consultant at the Law Office 

We have the pleasure to inform that Prof dr hab. Zdzisław Brodecki has become an independent consultant at the Law Office.

Prof. dr hab. Zdzisław Brodecki is one of the founders of the Law and Administration Department at the University of Gdańsk (Poland). For many years of his career, Professor has been involved in a broadly comprehended maritime law, insurance law and European laws. In 1978-1996 he was the head of the Maritime Law Faculty and in 1996-2013 he was the head of the Faculty of European Law and Legal Comparatistics, the Law and Administration Department at the University of Gdańsk (Poland). At present he holds the office of the Director of the Institute of Law and Diplomacy at the Wyższa Szkoła Bankowa, Gdynia (Poland). 

As a renowned authority on the maritime law and insurance law, he has been taking part in proceedings of many international organisations and institutions and, in particular, the Comité Maritime International (CMI), the International Maritime Organization (IMO) or the Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances (AIDA). The author, co-author and editor monographs and scientific publications, among which it is to mention, in any event, "Business insurance law", "Maritime insurance law", "Aquis Communautaire", "The Polish Business Law" or comments to European Treaties.

Since 1997, Professor Brodecki has drawn up legal opinions on European laws and insurance law under the auspices of the parliamentary Commission for European Law. Since 2001 he has been a consultant at the international law office CSM Cameron McKenna. In 2010 he was the laureate of the Heweliusz Award. He is an arbitrator at arbitration tribunals i.e. the Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Pomeranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Poland). He is an active member of the Maritime Law Codification Commission.
