On 13th May, 2016 Turkey has ratified the updated Convention on the Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic, signed in London on 9th April 1965, hereinafter referred to as "FAL Convention".
We remind you that the „FAL Convention” includes standards and recommended practices connected with the required documents and procedures which should be used during the arrival, stay and departure of the ship to the port, as well as in relation to the crew, passengers, baggage and cargo.
The modified annex to the Convention was adopted in April this year and it is expected to enter into force on 1st January 2018. The main motive of the amendments is to improve the procedures related to international maritime transport.
